Vancouver-based Alix Resources secured a drilling permit for its Electra lithium project in Sonora, Mexico.

Mexican authorities issued an environmental permit for a 25-hole reverse circulation drill program at the property's Tecolote target, according to statements issued by Alix and JV partner Lithium Australia. Alix added it made a lithium-rich-clay discovery at an area called Agua Fría.

Montreal's Dynacor Gold Mines announced first gold production at its new Veta Dorada plant in Arequipa, Peru.

The 300t/d plant produced and shipped a 22kg gold bar following its inauguration on October 3, said the company, which is also developing the nearby Tumipampa gold project.


Vancouver-based Auryn Resources said it started exploration work at the Huilacollo and Baños del Indio gold projects in Peru.

Exploration work will include surface sampling, trenching, mapping and geophysical studies, the company said in a statement. A 3,000-5,000m drill program will get underway in the first quarter of 2017 at the 2,000ha Huilacollo property, while a 2,500m drill program is scheduled for 4Q17 at the 5,000ha Baños del Indio property, it said. Exploration work is also planned for the Sombrero and Curibaya copper-gold properties, it added.
