The board of Colombia's Medellín-based multi-utility EPM has approved the new administrative structure of the organization, which includes institutional, corporate and competitive levels, the company said in a statement.
Jesús Aristizábal will act as energy department director at the corporate level, the statement said.
Gabriel Jaime Betancourt Mesa will become energy department distribution manager at the competitive level, Jorge Mario Pérez Gallón will act as generation manager and Ana Cristina Rendón Escobar will serve as gas manager.
The installation of the new leaders was scheduled to begin this week, the statement said.
EPM CEO Juan Felipe Gaviria Gutiérrez began the restructuring process in August 2004 "to make EPM more coherent in its businesses and activities in the context of the worldwide challenges that must be faced by a public utility company such as ours"
The process will bring about fundamental changes designed to convert the departments into large players in their respective sectors, Gutiérrez said in the statement.
