Santander Río Banco Santander Río is the Argentine unit of Spanish banking giant Banco Santander. It offers products and services in the areas of personal, corporate, business, agro and SME banking. Santander Río provides clients with savings and checking accounts; commercial, consumer and mortgage loans; insurance; and factoring and investment services. The finance institution operates through a network of 353 branches in 22 provinces throughout the country, where it serves over 2mn clients. It started operations in 1968 under the brand Banco Río de la Plata. It was acquired in 1997 by the Spanish lender, adopting its current name in 2006.
