GeoPark looks to hook up wells on Fell, Flamenco blocks in Chile
Bnamericas Published: Friday, September 06, 2013
Chilean authorities in southern region XII have begun evaluating Latin America-focused oil and gas firm GeoPark's (AIM: GPK) plans for flow lines on the Fell and Flamenco blocks. If production tests come back positive, GeoPark plans to connect the Sutlej N X-1 well, the first to be drilled in the Kimiri Aike belt, to the Sutlej X-1 well where gas was discovered in 2008. The flow line will stretch 2.14km across the Fell block, according to environmental documentation. The London-listed firm also plans to connect the Chercán x-1 well, where gas initially flowed at a rate of 4mf3/d (113,270m3/d), to existing gas lines on the Flamenco block. GeoPark submitted two separate routes for the Chercán x-1 flow line, one stretching only 365m to tap off into an existing flow line. The second option is a 1,071m line to an intersection of two lines on the Flamenco block, operated under a special operating agreement (CEOP) with Chilean state oil company Enap. In the remainder of 2013 GeoPark plans to finish drilling the Sutlej N 1 and Molino N 1 wells on Fell and the Tagua 1 well on Flamenco, according to the latest filling submitted to local securities regulator SVS.
