Bolivia's hydrocarbons and energy ministry reported that state hydrocarbons industrialization company EBIH and Consorcio Wonil Eng-Cosmo I&D signed the contract to build a plant which will produce pipes and accessories for natural gas distribution.
BNamericas revealed last month that the Korean group had won the work with a bid of US$9.05mn.
The factory (rendered below) will be built at the Kallutaca industrial park in El Alto, outside capital La Paz, and have capacity to process 4,000t/y of polyethylene. Operations are penciled in to begin at the end of next year and authorities envision exporting surplus production.
