This press release from Chile's National Petroleum Company was published using an automatic translation system.
According to what was previously reported, technical studies were commissioned to external, independent and prestigious organizations. These analyzes were carried out by the company Algoritmos, Technical Entity of Environmental Inspection (ETFA) and the Center of Environmental Technologies (CETAM), belonging to the Federico Santa María Technical University.
Today we have received the results of the last of the studies carried out, which clearly indicate that in our facilities in Quintero "there is no presence of Nitrobenzene, Isobutane or Methyl Chloroform in any of the samples analyzed", components that have been pointed out as causing the toxic cloud.
The studies carried out by the aforementioned entities were carried out in the two storage tanks (called TK5104 and TK5109) that were in the maintenance process and the separator in the extension sector (separation pool), both facilities subject to temporary measures decreed by the environmental authority (SMA).
These results confirm what we had pointed out. Our task now is to deploy all our efforts to improve day by day the standards of our operation and participate actively in the program promoted by the Government that seeks to improve the quality of life of the community of Quintero and Puchuncaví.
