Peru greenlights acreage transfer deal

Peru's government cleared the transfer of a stake in jungle upstream acreage after approval from hydrocarbons licensing authority Perupetro.

Pacific Stratus Energy del Perú will cede its 30% interest in block 131 to Cepsa Peruana which already holds 70% of the area, according to a supreme decree.

Perupetro now is authorized to sign the contract modification with the companies.

Block 131 covers 480,985ha (see map below) and this year has averaged 2,851b/d oil and condensate or 7% of countrywide output, according to Perupetro data.

REFINERY CALL

For its part, state oil company Petroperú launched a tender to provide basic engineering services for the revamp of the primary distillation unit at the Iquitos refinery.

Offers for the four month contract are due May 30, according to reference terms.
