Petrobras in new refinery record

Brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) set a daily crude processing record of 2.15Mb from its Brazilian refineries on April 7.

The figure eclipses the previous mark of 2.14Mb achieved on March 30, Petrobras said in a statement.

"This result reaffirms our continuous search to increase operational efficiency from refineries," the statement said.

The company added it had observed all federal health and safety laws during the refinery process.

Petrobras' operates 11 refineries in Brazil and two in Bolivia. The largest, the 360,000b/d-capacity Replan facility in the state of São Paulo, is responsible for 20% of Brazil's total oil output.

Another four refinery projects are currently under construction: Comperj, in Rio de Janeiro state, Abreu e Lima (Pernambuco), Premium I (Maranhão) and Premium II (Ceará).
