Brazil's Petrobras reported record domestic oil and gas production in September, spurred by ultra-deepwater fields off the southeast coast, the state-run company said on Monday.

Output reached 2.75Mboe/d, eclipsing the previous high of 2.72Mboe/d set in August, according to a Petrobras statement.

Local oil production averaged 2.24Mb/d and natural gas 81.2Mm3/d.

Pre-salt fields located up to 7km below the Atlantic's surface delivered 1.46Mboe/d, up 7.3% on the previous month.

"This result is mainly due to higher production at the Lula and Sapinhoá fields in the Santos basin," Petrobras said.

Overall output in Brazil and abroad was 2.88Mboe/d, the company added.
