Brazil's state-run oil giant Petrobras recently launched tenders to charter diving (DSV) and ROV support vessels (RSV).
In the DSV tender, the contract duration is three years with possible extension for another two years.
Sources told BNamericas Petrobras may hire two DSVs, though it is not specified in the tender information disclosed to potential bidders.
The vessels offered in the auction can be foreign or Brazilian-flagged. The deadline for submission of proposals is November 13.
The RSV tender calls for the chartering of foreign or Brazilian-flagged vessels for a period of two or three years.
The auction is split into two lots: in the first one (A) commencement of operations is expected for December 2018 while in the second one it is January 2019.
Interested bidders have until November 23 to submit proposals.
Among the shipping companies that own and/or operate DSVs and RSVs for Petrobras are US-based Otto Candies and Edison Chouest, Holland's Fugro, Norway's SolstadFarstad, Sealion and DOF (Norskan); UK's Up Offshore and local firm Farol Apoio Marítimo.
