Petrobras sets new refinery mark

Brazil's Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) processed a record 2.14Mb of crude from its Brazilian refineries on March 30, the state-run company said in a statement.

The figure surpassed the previous mark of 2.13Mb set on March 3.

"This result reaffirms our focus on achieving greater operational efficiency in our refineries," Petrobras said in the statement.

The Rio de Janeiro-based firm added the volume was achieved while meeting all federal health and safety regulations.

Petrobras currently has 11 refineries in operation in Brazil and two in Bolivia.

The largest, the 360,000b/d-capacity Replan facility in the state of São Paulo, is responsible for 20% of Brazil's total oil output.

Another four refinery projects are currently under construction: Comperj, in Rio de Janeiro state, Abreu e Lima (Pernambuco), Premium I (Maranhão) and Premium II (Ceará).
