Pluspetrol secures Peru exploration clearance

Peruvian environmental authorities approved a US$50mn exploration campaign planned by Pluspetrol in Junín region.

Earlier this year, the company filed an EIS with the energy and mines ministry for the project on block 108. Work includes the installation of 10 platforms.

EIS approval does not constitute the granting of authorizations, permits or other requirements the company must secure, according to a resolution from the ministry's energy environmental affairs office.

Pluspetrol was Peru's principal hydrocarbons producer in August.
