Repsol shoots seismic at Peru's Kinteroni field

Repsol in August acquired 73km 2D seismic at Peru block 57 in the Kinteroni field.

Information from state hydrocarbons promotion agency Perupetro reveals the Spanish major was the second company in Peru this year to shoot 2D seismic after Savia acquired 262km on block Z-33 in May.

In 2013, a total 1,168km 2D and 2,041km2 3D seismic were shot. This year, through end-August, 273km2 3D was acquired, all in July and by Savia on Z-33.

Ten development and one exploration wells were spud last month for a total of 57 development and 10 exploration wells this year through end-August.

In August, BPZ, GMP, Olympic, Perenco and Savia drilled development wells on blocks Z-1, I, XIII, 67 and Z-2B, respectively; Faulkner spud an exploration well on block XXVII.

In 2013, a total of 85 development, two confirmation and seven exploration wells were spud.

PRODUCTION

Crude, NGLs and natural gas this August averaged 68,560b/d, 95,750b/d and 1.25Bf3/d (35.5Mm3/d) compared with 61,369b/d, 108,649b/d and 1.27Bf3/d a year earlier.

Pluspetrol was the principal crude producer last month with 12,384b/d from block 1-AB and the main NGLs producer with 55,158b/d from block 88. The latter area also was the main natural gas producer at 674Mf3/d.

The number of contracts in place at end-August was 71 compared with 75 in the year-ago month.

No contracts were signed in the first seven months this year, or in 2012-13. The last time contracts were signed – five of them – was in 2011, highlights Perupetro information.
