Roundup: Juniors update operations, rating upgrade

New World Oil and Gas will discuss the company's continuing participation in the Blue Creek license with Belize's government this week.

In a statement, the junior operator said it seeks clarity regarding the termination date of the production sharing agreement, whether it is October 12 or 31, unless an additional well is spud or the government extends the contract.

President Energy entered into a sale and purchase agreement through President Energy Paraguay to acquire the 36% stake held by Pirity Hidrocarburos, a Petro-Victory Energy subisidiary, in the Pirity concession. Upon completion, President will operate and own 100% of the concession.

Caribbean Information and Credit Rating Services (CariCRIS) upgraded National Helicopter Services, a JV between Trinidad and Tobago's government and National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago, to CariA- and ttA-.

"The rating upgrade is supported by a strong improvement in financial performance as a result of increased business, as well as increased exploration activity by other clients," CariCRIS said in a statement.

The rating action comes amid latest energy ministry metrics that reveal an uptick in drilling activity.
