SeaBird mobilizes 5th vessel for Mexico TGS survey

Norwegian firm SeaBird Exploration has mobilized a fifth vessel to the Gulf of Mexico to begin data gathering for seismic survey firm TGS.

The vessel will arrive in the Gulf of Mexico in October, the company said in a press release.

SeaBird announced on June 30 it had begun a 181,500km 2D seismic survey in the Gulf of Mexico for TGS, which was awarded a contract in May by Mexico's national hydrocarbons commission (CNH).

The survey was originally to involve four vessels, SeaBird said at the time.

Last November SeaBird received a letter of award from TGS to acquire up to 300,000km of 2D seismic data offshore Mexico and the US.
