Uruguay inks seismic deal
Work will cover blocks 6,11 and 12 awarded to BP (NYSE: BP) and block 15, won by Tullow Oil (LSE:TLW) , during the nine block Ronda Uruguay II.
The new data will provide insight into blocks to be offered in Ronda Uruguay III in 2015. Ancap president Raúl Sendic said survey results will be ready in six or seven months.
Private companies have pledged to invest US$1.6bn to better understand Uruguay's offshore platform in 2012-14, he added. Two other PGS ships are in Uruguay conducting 3D seismic surveys for Total (NYSE: TOT) and BG (LSE: BG).
