Venezuelan state oil firm PDVSA shut down the Puerto La Cruz oil refinery's TG-6 electricity generator for maintenance, a PDVSA release said.

TG-6 is part of a 55MW three-generator system that provides power to the Puerto La Cruz and El Chaure refineries as well as the Guaraguao maritime terminal.

Maintenance on TG-6 is expected to last 30 days and will allow it to continue meeting all of Puerto La Cruz's power needs, PDVSA said.

Puerto La Cruz, which has a 300,000b/d nominal processing capacity, is also undergoing maintenance on its catalytic cracking unit which began earlier this month.

PDVSA did not reveal if the maintenance programs would impact the refinery's output.
