Brazil's Petrobras on Thursday announced it has recovered 654mn reais (US$212mn) from the Lava Jato, or 'Car Wash,' corruption probe.
Considering this recent amount, the state-run oil company has recovered some 1.7bn reais via collaboration agreements between executives and companies involved in legal irregularities and Brazilian justice.
Petrobras remarked that it has been working in partnership with the federal public prosecutor's office, the federal police and local revenues service since the beginning of the investigations while improving its compliance mechanisms.
The company is coauthor with the public prosecutor's office in 13 public wrongdoing lawsuits and is also currently an accusation assistant in 43 criminal suits.
