Minas Gerais pushes back health facilities PPP bidding deadline
Brazil's Minas Gerais state capital Belo Horizonte, through its health department SMSA, has postponed once again the bidding deadline for a public-private partnership to build and operate healthcare facilities.
Originally postponed to April 13 from February 25, the date to bid on the project is now May 28, according bid documents.
The PPP winner will be selected based on the lowest annual concession payment requested, with a ceiling price of 114mn reais (US$38mn). Payments throughout the 20-year concession period could reach some 2.1bn reais.
Interested companies and groups must prove a minimum capital of 190mn and 247mn reais, respectively, and have experience carrying out similar projects worth at least 200mn.
Brazil's national development bank BNDES is offering 12-year financing for no more than 70% of the total investment amount. The bank requires the loan recipient to provide at least 20% of the investment budget with its own funds.
