After winning a significant contract for a Brazilian financial services company in 2003, GFT decided to enter the South American market by opening a development center in São Paulo.

US internet security software firm Check Point (Nasdaq: CHKP) has acquired Israeli firm Dynasec, a provider of governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) solutions, the former said in a statement.

The transaction is expected to close within the next month. Terms of the acquisition will not be disclosed.

With the acquisition, Check Point will be able to combine its security offer with Dynasec's GRC solutions to help customers meet compliance requirements by implementing IT security policies and address security as a business process.

Check Point relies on channel partners for 100% of its Latin American sales. The company has offices in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Argentina.
