US IT company Acronis expects Latin American revenues this year to be boosted by operations in four markets, namely Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile , company director for the region, Xavier Aguirre, told BNamericas without providing hard figures.

In 2010, the countries accounting for most of Acronis' revenues in the region were in the Caribbean, as well as Colombia and Mexico, he said. This year Acronis is focusing mainly on six markets - Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela.

The firm is working to increase the revenue contribution from the region in the future. "We have aggressive goals for the region so that it can contribute more significantly in one year," Aguirre said.

This year, Acronis expects to launch a new version of its backup and recovery solution, which "will attract a lot of interest in Latin America. We also see demand for virtualization solutions," he added.

Headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, Acronis is a provider of backup, recovery and security solutions for physical, virtual and cloud environments. The company's disk imaging technology enables companies and consumers to protect their digital assets, while its disaster recovery, deployment and migration software helps users protect digital information, maintain business continuity and reduce downtime.
