Alldora Tecnologia, a Brazilian company that specializes in outsourced printing and document management, has acquired local enterprise content management (ECM) company GED7 for US$2mn, news source Baguete reported.
The initiative is seen by Alldora - a sales channel partner of Lexmark, Okidata, Samsung, and NDDigital and Prodimage - as an opportunity to boost its presence in the ECM segment.
"[The acquisition] will strengthen our product offering, and we will be able to develop more consulting projects. Once we merge our joint portfolios, the GED7 solutions offering will focus on processes and services rather than merely products like the majority of the market," Alldora Tecnologia president Marcelo Filosof was quoted as saying.
Alldora said the purchase would help it become "one of the most qualified and efficient channels, with a combined offer of printing outsourcing, electronic document management and embedded ECM solutions."
Alldora intends to launch its new solutions in the other markets where it has a presence - Chile, Mexico and Peru.
