Enterprise IT software solutions developer ASG Software Solutions has acquired California-based data protection and backup management software provider Atempo, the companies said in a statement, without disclosing the pricetag of the deal.
The incorporation of Atempo's backup and archiving solutions expands ASG's ability to automate and simplify the managing of complex IT environments to reduce risk and improve service delivery throughout the IT lifecycle.

"By integrating Atempo's technologies into ASG's solutions, we are able to provide customers with a scalable, long-term data protection solution that works across any infrastructure and on any platform."
Atempo has 13 offices worldwide and more than 4,500 customers across data-intensive industries. Atempo's archiving technology is focused on the long-term preservation of digital assets, storage resource optimization and capacity planning, metadata management, and ensuring e-discovery accessibility and meeting compliance requirements.
In turn, ASG Software Solutions has more than 3,200 customers worldwide. In Latin America, the company has offices in Argentina and Brazil.
