Authorities reach e-government collaboration agreement with Taiwan

Monday, August 22, 2011

Panama has reached a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Taiwan to collaborate in e-government initiatives, Panama's government said in a statement.

Panama's authority for government innovation, AIG, will work with Taiwan's Institute for Information Industry (III) to cooperate in e-government, digital education and ICT.

Under the agreement, AIG will be assisted in exploring sources of financial aid provided by Taiwan's government, with a view to develop a digital revamp program in the country. The III will also provide guidance to boost e-government and digital education initiatives in Panama.

The Taiwanese institute has also committed to facilitating access for AIG to new products and technologies that would support Panama's digital agenda.

Last month, Panama reached a similar e-government collaboration agreement with South Korea to study, design and implement an e-government master plan.
