Monday, May 30, 2011

Brazil's largest bank, federally controlled Banco do Brasil (BB), will increase its focus on capturing clients among university students and young people, a move that will include a new website for the segment allowing clients to communicate via Facebook and Twitter, as well as upload and share photos and videos.

This segment is worth 31bn reais (US$19.3bn) annually, the bank said in a press release.

BB began to serve the segment in 1995 and now has 1.2mn university students with bank accounts, and 870,000 of these use BB's credit and debit cards.
