Brazilian IT firm Bematech has launched a new software development center in Jundiaí, in São Paulo state, the company said in a statement.
Bematech specializes in commercial solutions, hardware and training services as well as software. The company entered the corporate market in 2006 with the purchase of Gemco Anywhere, a software firm with expertise in medium and large construction and real-estate companies. Bematech has since made four additional strategic acquisitions and intends to continue investing this year.
With the new software development center, Bematech plans to unify the processes from teams dedicated to different verticals, from drugstores to restaurants to hospitality enterprises.
Bematech also expects the new center in Jundiaí to help the firm build solutions around new technologies, such as cloud computing and software as a service.
Bematech's 2010 revenues through September measured 24.8mn reais (US$14.6mn at the time), a 47% year-on-year increase from the first nine months of 2009. The company maintains international operations in the US, Taiwan, China and Europe. Executives have expressed desires to expand within Latin America as well.
