Brazilian IT solutions firm Bematech is partnering with Recife-based research center Centro de Estudos e Sistemas Avançados (CESAR), aiming to create a new point-of-sale (POS) system for the local market, the company said in a statement.
The POS development process, designed by CESAR, involves visiting a large retail store, a Bematech client, to evaluate end users' needs. After designing the solution, the center will provide a prototype for testing with end customers.
The project also involves implementing the graphical user interface (compatible with touch screen and desktop systems) in Java for Bematech's multiplatform POS system (Windows and Linux).
Bematech expects to complete the new POS is by month's end.
