US web accelerator and security company Blue Coat Systems (Nasdaq: BCSI) expects to consolidate its existing channel base for the corporate segment in the Southern Cone this year, the company's manager for the region, Federico Chaniz, told BNamericas.
"We are not expecting to expand our channel base for the corporate segment this year. Our idea is not to recruit new channels, but to train and specialize existing ones," the executive said. "We have enough coverage with our existing base."
However, Chaniz said Blue Coat expects to recruit channels for its recently launched ProxyOne solution, which is aimed at SMEs. "With this solution, we're now also targeting the SME segment, and we will launch an aggressive campaign to recruit channels for this solution," he added.
The ProxyOne appliance delivers malware protection, URL filtering and reporting on a single platform, the company says. The solution blocks the latest web threats with real-time updates from the WebPulse cloud security network, controls network access according to business policies and stops malware at the web gateway.
Blue Coat says it offers an application delivery network infrastructure that provides the visibility, acceleration and security required to optimize and secure the flow of information to any user, on any network. It also offers service provider solutions for managed security and WAN optimization, as well as carrier-grade caching solutions to save on bandwidth and enhance the end-user web experience.
