Friday, July 29, 2011

US software provider CA Technologies (NYSE: CA) is purchasing Dutch company WatchMouse, which specializes in SaaS-based tools for monitoring mobile and on-demand applications, the former said in a statement without disclosing the purchase price.

WatchMouse technology is sold via subscription and will be rolled into CA's portfolio of application monitoring tools. It will serve as a lower-cost, subscription-based alternative for customers who want to track application performance but do not need an extensive suite of capabilities, CA said.

According to the statement, WatchMouse's software is backed by a network of roughly 60 monitoring stations in 40 countries, providing real-time information about application behavior.
