Chinese peripherals PC company A4 Tech has entered the Brazilian market through a partnership with local PC accessories manufacturer Coletek, online source Computer World reported.
The companies have jointly invested US$1.5mn to start selling A4 Tech products in the country, mainly in marketing, staff training and showrooms.
Joint investments are expected to reach US$5mn by year-end to continue with marketing efforts, advertising and road shows.
Brazil's market growth potential in the computer, peripherals and accessories segment, coupled with the increased purchasing power of the population, has helped attract new companies like A4 Tech to the country, Coletek's marketing manager Charles Blagitz was quoted as saying.
According Blagitz, manufacturing A4 Tech products locally is a possibility in the future, though it would depend on market demand.
Founded in 2003, Coletek manufactures keyboards, mice, webcams, cases, among other items. The company has an annual production of 2.4mn items and 20 distributors in Brazil.
