Finnish RFID technology supplier Confidex is establishing a team in Brazil's São Paulo city to continue its geographic expansion and better serve its growing customer and partner base in Latin America, the company said in a statement.
In Latin America, the company has already built up an extensive partner network and is engaged with key players in the industry to provide solutions for large deployments across the continent.
"The development of our business in Latin America over the last 12 months has been impressive and we have made a strategic decision to place additional emphasis on addressing this rapidly expanding market for RFID tags and contactless ticketing solutions," said Timo Lindström, CEO of Confidex Group. "We have no doubt that Latin America will represent an increasingly significant share of our business going forward."
The company has appointed Alexander Dannias as general manager for Latin America and head of the new office in Brazil.
In Latin America, Confidex also has channel partners in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Guyana, Jamaica, Peru, Paraguay, Panama and Uruguay.
Confidex provides industrial RFID tag and ticket solutions worldwide. The company centralizes its R&D activities in Finland and has offices across Western Europe, the US, India and China.
