US PC manufacturer Dell (Nasdaq: DELL) is targeting large companies to offer its new set of IT solutions and services throughout Latin America as part of its 2011 business strategy, company executives announced in a press conference.

At a presentation in capital Santiago, Dell Chile general manager Mauricio Chacón told BNamericas that Dell has shifted from being solely a hardware supplier to more of a technology integrator, now offering services like virtualization, cloud computing, IT outsourcing and remote information management.

As part of Dell's business strategy, the company has acquired more than 15 IT solution companies during the last three years to meet new customer requirements.

"Dell solutions can help our customers to manage their increasing amount of data, reduce their storage costs and simplify the management of their IT infrastructure. We've acquired some companies to offer these services," Chacón said.

According to the executive, Dell also has partnerships with companies like Microsoft, Intel, VMware, Citrix and Red Hat to develop the strategy.

The presentation was part of the Dell Magazine Tour 2011, a regional event presented in Argentina, Peru, Colombia and now Chile.
