Global software as a service (SaaS) provider ExactTarget launched its Latin American division, following the acquisition of Brazilian email marketing provider Frontier Digital, Exact said in a statement without disclosing the value of the transaction.
With the new São Paulo-based operation, ExactTarget said it will offer its cross-channel marketing platform in Latin America and directly support multinational clients, including more than 80 enterprises previously served by Frontier Digital, including Abril, Ogilvy One, Walmart, TV Record and Ultrafarma.
Edson Barbieri, chief executive and cofounder of Frontier Digital, will lead ExactTarget's operation in Latin America as managing director of ExactTarget Brazil.

Frontier Digital had served as ExactTarget's exclusive Latin American reseller since 2010, providing marketing solutions for email, mobile and social media.
Frontier Digital is ExactTarget's fourth acquisition since 2009 after Australia-based mPath Global, San Francisco-based social media management and engagement platform CoTweet, and UK-based Keymail Marketing.
ExactTarget is a global provider of on-demand email marketing and interactive marketing solutions. The company's technology integrates with sales and marketing information systems from Salesforce.com, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Omniture and Webtrends, among others.
The company has a team of more than 1,100 professionals in the UK, Australia, the US, Canada and now Brazil.
