Argentina has distributed some 1.8mn laptops under digital inclusion program Conectar Igualdad, the government said in a statement.
With this figure, the government has completed the program's second phase, after finishing the first in March, according to the statement.
The program's last phase will occur during 2012, with the end goal of providing 3mn laptops in total to high school students. The government has already completed 60% of the program.
A tender for 1.5mn laptops was announced in July under the program, and half of these will be assembled in Argentina.
