Grupo Assa's sales up 42% during first half of 2011

Latin American consultancy and systems integrator Grupo Assa posted a 42% increase in sales during the first half of 2011 compared to the same period last year, the company said in a statement without providing hard figures.

The company expects to maintain this growth pace for the rest of the year. Operating income for the period also jumped 190% in the same comparison.

Assa's sales growth is four times the estimates for the IT services sector in the region, which is 11% according to IDC's Latin America Semiannual IT Services Tracker 2010.

The company also highlighted the opening of a new delivery center in Tandil, Buenos Aires province, as part of its expansion strategy. Assa also has facilities in Monterrey and the federal district in Mexico, São Paulo and Curitiba in Brazil.
