US insurance software provider GuideWire has scored a 27.5mn-real (US$16.5mn) deal with Brazil's largest independent insurance group, SulAmérica Seguros e Previdência, the latter company said in a statement.
SulAmérica acquired GuideWire software to overhaul, centralize and manage its accident and automobile insurance areas, as well as to improve customer service.
The Brazilian firm expects the solution to save 24mn reais per year in operational costs.
The implementation represents GuideWire's first contract in Latin America. Globally, the software firm serves 25 clients in six countries.
SulAmérica's main focus is on health and auto insurance, but it also offers private pension plans and other financial products.
