IBM Latin America appoints new general manager

IBM Latin America has appointed Elly Keinan as its general manager, according to a press release from the company.

Prior to becoming general manager, Keinan spent the past two years as general manager for IBM's systems and technology group, which runs the hardware systems business for the company in its growth markets sector, covering Southeast Asia, India and South Asia, the greater China group, Korea, Australia and New Zealand, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Keinan will succeed Rogério Oliveira, who was IBM Latin America's general manager for the past four years and will retire as the company's chair at end-June.

Oliveira has had a 40-year career with IBM. According to the company, he helped build its business in the region and established its presence in the financial services industry.
