El Salvador's IT and communications chamber, Casatic, is working on an ISO certification to be recognized in the country, according to newspaper La Prensa Gráfica.
ISO 38500 aims to provide a framework of principles for organizations' management to evaluate, manage and guide the use of information technology.
As part of the activities, the institution will launch the seminar "Corporate Governance of Information Technology: ISO 38500" on May 23-24, intended for business leaders, accountants and consultants, to explain ISO's benefits and importance.
ISO 38500 was published in June 2008 based on Australian Standard AS8015, which is recognized for contributing to the development of knowledge about corporate IT governance.
