Peru's ICT market is forecast to move approximately US$6.5bn this year, climbing 11.9% compared to 2010, state news service Andina reported, citing data from the Lima chamber of commerce.
According to the report, the ICT sector will expand at an average rate of 7.1% for the next three years.
In 2010, the sector accounted for 3.8% of the country's GDP, with telecoms services accounting for US$3.96bn or 68% of total ICT revenues, according to the report.
Meanwhile, IT revenues totaled US$1.86bn last year, accounting for the remaining 32% of total ICT revenues or 1.2% of the country's GDP.
