US corporate solutions provider Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq: INFA) and compatriot security firm Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC) have partnered to offer management solutions for large volumes of data, the former said in a statement.
With this partnership, Symantec will resell Informatica Data Archive - high-performance software to manage data growth. The joint offer will allow customers to reduce the total ownership cost of databases and enterprise applications, management and risks.
"Often, IT organizations have difficulty backing up growing data volumes," said Adam Wilson, Informatica senior VP and life cycle management director. "By archiving inactive data using Informatica Data Archive, companies can dramatically reduce the amount of time and effort required for backup and recovery, improving these processes."
