The Mexican unit of Miami-based IT products wholesaler Intcomex is operating new branches in Guadalajara, Culiacán and Tepic in partnership with wholesaler Microstar, local media outlet Infochannel quoted Intcomex general director Gonzalo de Velasco as saying.
According to de Velasco, Mexico's western and Pacific regions were the only areas where Intcomex lacked a presence. But as Microstar does serve these regions, the partnership has enabled Intcomex to cover them appropriately. With new branches up and running, De Velasco said, Intcomex is ready to address distributors in these markets.
The distribution channels, which already operate with Microstar, will now have access to a larger catalog of components and brands, allowing the channels to improve their offering to clients and increase sales volume, the executive said.
According to de Velasco, Intcomex's goal for this year is consolidation. Intcomex has sales and distribution offices in 12 countries across Latin America and the Caribbean.
