International operations offset Exceda's Brazil woes
Brazilian security and web solutions provider Exceda's international operations have helped offset a poor performance at home this year.
According to Claudio Baumann (pictured), one of Exceda's partners, the share of revenues coming from overseas is approximately 30% this year, compared to 12% in 2014, and the company forecasts growth of 25-30% this year.
"At the end of the day, this internationalization proved an appropriate strategy, especially now that Brazil's economy is down. With our external presence we have a diversification that gives us good opportunities," Baumann told BNamericas.
Exceda's international expansion began four years ago. In Latin America, the company operates in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Mexico, apart from Brazil. Two years ago, Exceda launched US operations and the international expansion will continue next year, Baumann said.
Despite the woes in Brazil, he said Exceda did not lose any clients in the country, although the company has renegotiated the terms of some contracts.
Baumann admitted that the volume of business has declined and some projects, such as expanding domestically, have been postponed.
Overall, the company expects to grow its client base 20% this year, compared to 30% in 2014.
Among the company's clients are Petrobras' distributor BR, Brazil's Globo TV, Chilean airline Lan, Fiat and Brazilian aircraft maker Embraer.
Exceda has offices in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico and the US. In Peru and Colombia the company operates via partners.
