Argentina's foreign ministry has organized a trade mission of Argentine and Uruguayan software companies that will visit Peru and Colombia this week, the first two countries' governments said in separate statements.
The mission is a first step looking to form synergies and address new markets in a joint strategy, and is the first bilateral software and IT services trade mission, according to Uruguay's government.
The business delegation will include representatives of organizations from both countries, such as Argentine software chamber Cessi, Uruguayan IT chamber Cuti, and software companies Globant, Calipso, Finnegans, Netgate and Ideasoft.
"The companies are looking for strategic alliances, business partners and end customers. The main objective is to know these markets and define an interesting agenda with potential customers," Cuti head Irene González said.
Under the Argentine foreign ministry's program for promoting software and IT services in external markets, active since 2004, the government has carried out 36 trade missions to Chile, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica, Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, the US, Canada, UK, Spain, Portugal and Germany.
