Russian antivirus software developer Kaspersky Laboratories has restructured its Latin American operations to focus on solution development for clients and value-added programs for partners in the region, the company said in a statement.
As such, Kaspersky Lab Latin America will now be part of the company's emerging markets division, headed by Garry Kondakov. Additionally, former consumer sales director Al Ochoa was appointed general director for Latin America.
According to non-audited 2010 results, the company grew 68% to US$134mn in the Americas.
"The restructuring of our business units in the region represents the next step in the development of Kaspersky Lab. Latin America will play a key role... to help strengthen the company's overall position in the global IT security market. This new structure will enable our executives in the region to focus more on our partners and develop business opportunities," Kondakov said.
The company also announced the appointment of Eljo Aragão and Hugo Avendaño as country managers for Brazil and Mexico, respectively. Dan Molina was selected as business development director for Latin America, and Luis Guisasola will be marketing director for the region.
The Russian firm relies on channel partners for 100% of Latin American sales, and also supports regional operations through offices in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, as well as Latin American headquarters in Florida.
