Mexican mission-critical services provider Kio Networks has launched operations in Colombia after acquiring a majority share of local IT provider SEM Soluciones Empresariales, the former said in a statement.
Now with the operations merged under the name KIO Networks Colombia, the company is planning to invest US$50mn in the country over the next three years.
Investments are expected to reach US$75mn in six years, the company said.
The investment will focus mainly on building data centers and expanding the workforce, creating 200-300 jobs.
Founded in 2001, Kio Networks is 100% Mexican owned. In Colombia, the company will offer video surveillance and managed security services, managed security, cloud infrastructure, recovery and business continuity, Google Enterprise, and document management outsourcing.
