Lanix Technology lands in local market through retail chain

Mexican PC manufacturer Lanix Technology has entered Colombia's market through the online store of retail chain Falabella, according to press reports.

The company expects to invest some US$20mn in the country next year.

Lanix is currently offering two laptops in Colombia and all-in-one computers, based on Microsoft Windows 7 and Intel Core processors.

Similarly, the company is planning to expand its portfolio in the country with new computer models and making inroads into smartphone, tablet and ultrabook markets.

Lanix expects to have 3% of the PC market in Colombia by the end of 2012, Lanix's commercial manager for Colombia and Peru, Manuel Nieto, was quoted as saying by local press.

Lanix products are sold to consumers, businesses, governments and academic institutions throughout Latin America. Lanix has operations in Mexico, Peru and Chile.
