Google Brasil remains the most used search engine in the country with a 90.21% market share in the 12 weeks ended November 26, according to online intelligence service Experian Hitwise.
But compared to the same period last year, the search engine lost 3.72 percentage points.
Bing Brasil was ranked second, with a 3.21% share in the 12 weeks. Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) search engine outpaced Google.com (in English) and was ranked in third place with 2.95% of searches during the period.
Google Portugal followed in fourth place with 1.84%, while Yahoo Brasil came next with a 0.94% share.
Meanwhile, Bing Brasil and UOL led the ranking for search engine success rates in the Brazilian market. The former posted an 84.5% success rate in the 12 weeks, while the latter achieved 83.7%. A successful search is one that results in a person clicking through to a website.
One-word search queries comprised the majority of searches, with 26.0% of the total during the period, followed by two-word search queries with 20.6%.
