Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) will provide technology support and a number of internships for a new biotechnology center in Colombia, newspaper El Espectador reported.
The project has been developed by the ICT ministry with support from Colombia's science and technology development agency, Colciencias.
The announcement was made by Orlando Ayala, corporate VP of Microsoft, at the seventh Latin American faculty summit in Cartagena, a seminar promoting collaboration between computing scientists and researchers.
The event was attended by more than 300 academic and scientific researchers from 80 institutions and 15 different countries.
