Ministry awards US$5.48mn e-government tender

Colombia's IT and communications ministry (Mintic) has awarded Unión Temporal Software Works a 10.6bn-peso (US$5.48mn) tender to develop e-government applications, the ministry said on its website.

The company will be responsible for developing 14 IT solutions or high impact applications to implement services and procedures to improve the relationship between citizens and the state.

Four other bidders participated in the process, including Unisys Colombia, Tecnocom Comunicaciones y Energía, Assenda and Everis Spain.

The tender is part of the country's Vive Digital universal connectivity plan and the national e-government strategy.

The national e-government strategy looks to promote a more efficient and transparent government, providing better services to citizens through ICT use.
