Colombia's IT and communications ministry (Mintic) has published the bidding documents to select the company that will provide the consultancy services for the strategic design of ICT centers under the country's Vive Digital plan, the ministry said in a statement.
Under the plan, the ministry will deploy 800 centers - known as tecnocentros - throughout the country, to benefit people with IT equipment, internet access, ICT training, entertainment activities and e-government services, among others.
The ministry will receive proposals until November 16.
The Vive Digital program seeks to increase internet usage from 2.2mn to 8.8mn connections. To date, there are 3.6mn connections in Colombia.
